Venice Lagoon Plastic Free, as a partner of the Remedies project, is delighted to announce the 24 successful applicants who have been selected to participate in the PLASTIC FANTASTIC Hackathon!
The PLASTIC FANTASTIC Hackathon, organized by the HEurope project REMEDIES is an international online Hackathon & acceleration initiative. Over the course of 6 months, experts from diverse backgrounds across Europe will hack together the circle of plastic. Indeed, the Hackathon will bring together environmental & business experts, water & environmental activists, and impact entrepreneurs who will work collectively to further develop solutions regarding the detection, monitoring, collection, valorization and prevention as well as reuse of plastic litter.
Venice Lagoon Plastic Free will also be part of the jury to select the 3 most impactful solutions. These will be further supported by a wide and diverse community of the Impact Hub Athens experts.
The applications received came from 18 different countries, working in Europe, Africa, North America, and Asia, and 30% of the applicants were women.
Indeed, among the successful applicants are engineers, scientists, designers, and environmental enthusiasts, each bringing their unique perspectives and skills to the hackathon.
